In the north-east of the Principality of Andorra, on the border with the Ariège, the glacial cirque of Juclar is one of the most rugged, spectacular and alpine-rich landscapes in all the Pyrenees.

Hiking — Route from Vall d'Incles

The classic route from the Pont de la Baladosa car park to the refuge. A 75-minute walk along the banks of the Juclar river, through black pine forests and subalpine meadows up to the glacial cirque. Suitable for families.

Refugi de Juclar is a key staging post on the GR10 (Pyrenean long-distance path), the Andorran GRP and the transborder Volta dels Llacs route. The ideal overnight stop for long-distance hikers crossing the Pyrenees.

One of the most beautiful mountains in Andorra. Pic d'Escobes rises imposingly above the Juclar cirque with a distinctive silhouette and steep slopes on all sides. The ascent requires alpine experience.

Alt de Juclar offers an exceptional 360° panorama. The ridge zone around the cirque is top-class alpine terrain for high-mountain enthusiasts.

In winter, the Juclar cirque is a ski-touring paradise. The slopes of Pic d'Escobes, Pic de Rulhe and Alt de Juclar offer routes for all levels. The refuge opens February to late April.

For those who want to enjoy the winter mountains without skis, the snowshoe route from Vall d'Incles to the Juclar lakes is a magical experience.

The glacial cirque of the Juclar lakes is one of the best-preserved alpine ecosystems in the Pyrenees. Turquoise-blue waters, granite, high-altitude flora and abundant wildlife: chamois, marmots and vultures.

⛅ Weather

Always check the weather forecast before setting out. Mountain conditions can change rapidly.

🆘 Emergencies

Andorra Mountain Rescue: 110. Always carry suitable equipment and a charged phone.

🌿 Nature

The area is a Natural Park. Respect the flora and fauna. No fires except in designated areas.
